Le protocole IRC, conçu par Jarkko "WiZ" Oikarinen et Darren Reed en août 1988 a été officialisé en mai 1993 par la RFC 1459. Nous pourrions fêter ça le 14 mai (14/5/93) et organiser un évènement #ircday.
Ceci nous laisse un peu moins de deux mois pour trouver des idées de manifestations pour regrouper les communautés ircéeennes et faire redécouvrir ce protocole qui nous plait tant.
Nous ouvrons deux canaux sur zeolia: #ircday est le canal international (en anglais) et#ircday-fr sera le canal francophone. N'hésitez surtout pas à venir proposer vos idées et à faire connaitre le projet, partagez-le avec autant de personnes que possible.

The IRC protocol, designed by Jarkko "WiZ" Oikarinen and Darren Reed in
August 1988, was formalized in May 1993 by RFC 1459. We could celebrate
this on May 14th (14/5/93) and organize an #ircday event.
This gives us a little less than two months to come up with ideas for events to bring together the IRC community and help people rediscover this protocol that we love so much.
We are opening two channels on zeolia: #ircday is the international channel (in English) and #ircday-fr will be the French-language channel. Don't hesitate to come and share your ideas and spread the word about the project, share it with as many people as possible.
